Biography
He is working with the UMR “Water Management, Uses, Actors” (G-EAU / CIRAD). Within this research unit, he is member of the teams PRECOS and Agro-ecological transition in the irrigated systems.
He is mainly interested in the economic instruments leading to a better governance of natural resources, especially water. He works closely with the Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy in Africa (CEEPA), Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences of the University of Pretoria (UP).
Previously, he has been collaborating with the Asian Institute of Technology (2010-2017), the International Rice Research Institute in Vietnam (2006-2010) and the International Improvement Centre for Maize and Wheat in Mexico (1997-2002), and the United Nation Social and Economic Commission for Asia and the Pacific (1987-1995).
He holds a PhD in Agricultural, Food and Rural Development Economics from the University of Montpellier (2004), and an Habilitation to Supervise Research (HDR) in Economics from the University of Montpellier (2021).
